在二十世紀初,先鋒派(Avant-garde)曾代表著對既有藝術形式的反叛與更新——從構成主義的空間幾何,到超現實主義的潛意識圖像,先鋒派藝術家以新技術、新媒介作為通向感知革命的手段。而在數位時代,列夫·馬諾維奇指出:今日的「新先鋒派」已不再是個體藝術家的美學實驗,而是作為軟件的系統性運作邏輯。換言之,軟件繼承並轉化了先鋒派的歷史使命——它不再以「陌生化」對抗感官慣性,而以「自動化、生成與操作」來重塑我們的知覺與思維結構。
