作為法國哲學家阿圖塞（Louis Althusser）的學生，法國哲學家賈克．洪席耶（Jacques Rancière）關注的是美學、政治和哲學間的相互構連、激進平等和解放的可能的問題。他的書寫橫跨政治、電影、攝影、文學、歷史方法和教育學等場域，其對於美學、政治和哲學的重新形構不但對當代哲學、藝術、文學、政治學和文化研究場域皆產生了深刻的影響，更是完全呼應了巴黎第八大學哲學系那不自滿且與時俱進的「哲學的場域轉換」（法︰lieu et transformation de la philosophie／英︰place and transformation of philosophy）的根本特徵和基調。對洪席耶來說，任何我們現在所理解的「政治」永遠是在與某種柏拉圖式的，將每個人依其時間和能力安插至一個固定的位置，或認命和接受現狀的「警治」（法︰la police／英︰the policing…
