舒凡 “蒼弱”與“健康” —《雨季不再來》序
繼《撒哈拉的故事》後，三毛的《雨季不再來》也成集問世了。討論這兩書的文字，多以“健康的近期”和“蒼弱的早期”說法，來區分兩條寫作路線的價值判斷，這一觀點是有待探討的。
就三毛個人而言，也許西非曠野的沙、石和荊棘正含有一種異樣的啟示，使她從感傷的“水仙花”，一變而為快樂的小婦人，這種戲劇性的成長過程是可能的，撇開“為賦新詞強說愁”本是少女時期的正常心理現象不說，即或樸素地比之為從蒼弱到健康也能算得上是常言了。…

三毛《雨季不再來》當三毛還是在二毛的時候 (自序)
我之所以不害羞的肯將我過去十七歲到二十二歲那一段時間里所發表的一些文稿成集出書，無非只有一個目的——這本《雨季不再來》的小書，代表了一個少女成長的過程和感受。它也許在技巧上不成熟，在思想上流於迷惘和傷感，但它的確是一個過去的我，一個跟今日健康進取的三毛有很大的不同的二毛。
人之所以悲哀，是因為我們留不住歲月，更無法不承認，青春，有一日是要這麽自然的消失過去。…
