川端康成《夏季的友誼》（上）
“媽媽，對門的前田先生，還有，天野先生、原先生，大家已經到了。我還以為我們算是最早的哪，結果是今年誰家都早啦。”
和子今天早晨剛剛到達徹底打掃過的別墅，立刻換上襯衣。短褲，騎上自行車轉了一圈，向坐在面向草坪的陽臺上的母親報告近鄰各幢別墅的情況。
“是麼？是今年突然熱起來的緣故吧。”
母親面對和子完全夏季裝束的身姿微笑著說：
“到各處走走，還有老爺子那裏，都去看看，見見面嘛。”…

和子想通了，別等著讓龍子抓住，自己主動上了小艇，對於龍子的提問，一概大大方方地痛快回答。
“真的。除了到這兒的別墅來的時間以外的容子，我根本一無所知。只有夏季這個時間我們還算得上朋友間的關係。”
“你們二位的耐性可真好。要是我，凡是我和我相好的朋友，一年到頭如果不是每天見面，那就放心不下。光一個夏季的友誼，算得上友誼？”
龍子這麼一說，和子也靜靜地點點頭。她隨後說：…
