為什麼許多偉大的企業家都像哲學家？
在一個典型的培訓教程中，人們很少關注內省與反思個人性格與信念所帶來的益處，而往往關注改變行為的益處。這一點在快節奏、科技驅動的商業世界中絲毫不令人吃驚，畢竟如今我們沒多少時間停下腳步思考，一切都想要立時見效（並願意為此付出更多）。盡管人們逐漸認識到「正念」活動 （如瑜伽和冥想）與內斂型生活方式的益處，但相較而言，對於哲學問題（如價值觀、品行美德與智慧）的自省卻被忽視了。管理培訓與領導力發展項目幾乎並不包含任何使某人明確自己哲學世界觀的內容（即使有，也很少）。但有越來越多的證據表明，他們理應添加這樣的內容。
