自調性： 文本是自我調節的，為了有效地運行轉換程序，它不向自身以外求援，各種轉換旨在維護和贊同使它們得以產生的那些內在規律，並且把本系統「封閉」起來，不使它和其他系統接觸，文本內的各要素必須呈現均衡性的相得益彰，為維護整體的生存而各顯其能，這便使文本成為一個自具自足，自我闡釋與自我調節的系統，一種「純形式」。它是自足的實體，而不是我們借以感知其它實體的「窗口」。內容是形式的功能顯現，不是和形式分離的什麼東西。也不是在形式之外或通過形式可以感覺到的東西。…
