北島《失敗之書》紐約一日
早上五點，我被直升飛機吵醒。它飛得很低，擦窗而過。我想起電影《獵鹿人》（The Deer Hunter）的片頭，噩夢中直升飛機的螺旋槳轉換成頭頂的風扇。駕駛員怎麽能在早上五點保持清醒，穿過摩天大樓中變形的黎明？直升飛機剛消失，警車又響起。先是一輛，緊接著第二、第三輛，好像獨奏在召喚樂隊。這音樂往往配在動作片的結尾處，警車呼嘯，字幕升起。一聲嘆息，我起身，是狗飛飛，趴在我腳下。在二十七層的鋼筋混凝土空間，一隻狗的嘆息意味著什麽？
我拉開窗簾。早安，紐約。…
