User-Generated Content alternatively knows as User Created Content (UGC) refers to any digital content that is produced and shared by end users such as texts, audios, images and videos on social media and online platforms in order to showcase some major applications and genres such as news, entertainment, music, gossip and even research.

To be apt, user-generated content is basically those pictures, videos, testimonials, tweets, blogs posts and lot more that is posted by unpaid and not really associated users with the brand but does it’s promotion as a brand, and are better known to be ‘fans’ which thus helps a brand build an immediate sense of authenticity.

And the process is running so smooth and shining quite bright in such a short span of time for the fast-paced world of internet. It has given such huge profits and assets to fine organizations and firms without even paying or spending the fans (users) those are somehow the brand ambassadors anything and are enjoying the icing on the cake.

UGC is really compelling for both brands and consumers as it’s like killing two birds with one stone, as one get content while engaging with consumers at the same time!


One of the best benefits of user-generated content is that it serves as an excellent social proof. Going through the content of real customers has a strong impact and increases a company’s credibility and brings a brand’s promise into perspective. Most of all customer-created content is clear and genuine because of which people or the viewers as an individual definitely just trust the UGC more.

And because the content is created by people who trust your brand, their opinions and content are seen or understood as compelling and unbiased, thus attracting even more users and viewers.

Other than this there are many benefits associated with the process as, because a company or brand sources images directly from fans on social media, there’s a little to no cost involved. Using user-generated content can make the people feel seen and heard and it can even boost the effectiveness of advertisements too.

Where there are so many pros of User Generated Content, there, of course, are cons on the other side of the coin too.

Like uncertain content quality that is being received as not everyone is of the same mindset and level of intelligence and creativity. There’s always a risk of credibility of the source who submits it. It is indeed a time-consuming process to make people trust and believe in your product and make them involved in the process of promoting the same. Company does face lack of participation most of the time that puts them in danger of a soon to be flop business show.

Apa gunanya melahirkan pelajar yang mampu memberikan jawapan yang betul, jika mereka tidak tahu bagaimana mempersoalkan soalan itu sendiri?

Inilah persoalan yang semakin penting dalam dunia pendidikan hari ini. Ketika sistem pendidikan di seluruh dunia berlumba-lumba membangunkan kemahiran berfikir aras tinggi atau Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), kita sebenarnya sedang berdepan dengan satu cabaran yang lebih asas: adakah sekolah kita melatih anak-anak untuk berfikir, atau sekadar melatih mereka mengingati?

Konsep HOTS yang dipelopori oleh ahli psikologi pendidikan Benjamin Bloom (1913–1999) kini menjadi antara tunjang pendidikan generasi baharu. Kita mahu pelajar mampu menganalisis, menilai dan mencipta – bukan sekadar menghafal dan mengulang.

Namun, untuk memahami mengapa perubahan ini begitu penting, kita boleh melihat pendidikan melalui satu lensa yang agak luar biasa: teori maklumat.

Pada 1948, ahli matematik Amerika Claude Shannon (1916–2001) memperkenalkan Information Theory, atau Teori Maklumat. Walaupun teori ini asalnya berkaitan komunikasi dan matematik, konsep entropi maklumat memberikan satu metafora yang menarik tentang bagaimana manusia belajar – dan mengapa pendidikan yang terlalu bergantung pada hafalan boleh membantutkan pemikiran.

Pendidikan Hafalan: Kolam Pemikiran dengan Entropi Sifar

Dalam teori Shannon, entropi maklumat ialah ukuran ketidakpastian dalam sesuatu sistem. Semakin mudah sesuatu kejadian diramal, semakin kecil nilai maklumat yang dibawanya. Apabila sesuatu hasil sudah pasti berlaku, ketidakpastian menjadi sifar dan begitu juga entropinya.

Bayangkan sekeping syiling yang mempunyai kepala pada kedua-dua belahnya. Jika kita melambungkannya, keputusannya tidak lagi benar-benar tidak pasti. Kita sudah tahu apa yang akan keluar.

Begitulah juga pendidikan yang terlalu berorientasikan hafalan.

Dalam model pendidikan tradisional, khususnya sistem peperiksaan yang terlalu menekankan jawapan standard, terdapat satu jawapan yang dianggap paling tepat – malah kadangkala satu-satunya jawapan yang diterima. Tugas pelajar bukan untuk meneroka perkara yang belum diketahui, tetapi untuk menghapuskan segala ketidakpastian dan mengulang semula apa yang telah disampaikan oleh guru dan buku teks.

Dari sudut teori maklumat, pendekatan yang terlalu boleh dijangka ini menghasilkan nilai tambah maklumat yang hampir sifar.

Pelajar akhirnya menjadi seperti read-only memory (ROM) – mampu menyimpan maklumat dengan baik, tetapi tidak semestinya mampu mengolah, mencabar atau menghasilkan pengetahuan baharu.

Masalahnya bukan pada hafalan itu sendiri. Hafalan mempunyai tempatnya dalam pendidikan. Kita perlu menguasai fakta asas sebelum mampu membina idea yang lebih kompleks.

Masalah timbul apabila hafalan menjadi destinasi, bukannya batu loncatan kepada pemikiran.

Apabila pendidikan berusaha menghapuskan semua kekeliruan, kesilapan dan persoalan terbuka, kita mungkin secara tidak sedar turut menghapuskan kelenturan minda, keberanian mencuba dan keupayaan mencipta.

HOTS dan Entropi Silang: Melatih Minda yang Sentiasa Belajar

Dalam dunia abad ke-21 yang berubah pantas dan semakin kompleks, model pendidikan yang berusaha menghapuskan semua ketidakpastian semakin sukar dipertahankan.

Dunia sebenar tidak menyediakan skema jawapan di hujung halaman.

Di sinilah konsep entropi silang (cross-entropy) boleh menjadi metafora yang berguna untuk memahami pemikiran aras tinggi.

Dalam pembelajaran mesin, cross-entropy digunakan untuk mengukur jurang antara taburan kebarangkalian yang diramalkan oleh sesuatu model dengan taburan sebenar yang berlaku di dunia nyata.

Jika konsep ini kita bawa ke dalam pendidikan, dunia sebenar – yang kompleks, dinamik, pelbagai dan tidak mempunyai satu jawapan standard – boleh dianggap sebagai “taburan sebenar”.

Sebaliknya, pemikiran kritis yang dibina oleh pelajar melalui proses menganalisis, menilai dan mencipta merupakan “model ramalan” mereka terhadap dunia.

Pendidikan berasaskan HOTS tidak lagi terlalu obses untuk mendapatkan keseragaman jawapan. Sebaliknya, ia mengakui bahawa akan sentiasa ada jurang antara apa yang kita fikir kita tahu dengan apa yang sebenarnya berlaku.

Dan jurang itulah yang perlu diterokai.

Apabila berhadapan dengan ketidakpastian, pelajar perlu menilai bukti, mempertimbangkan risiko, membandingkan perspektif dan mencari penyelesaian yang mungkin belum pernah dicuba.

Dalam proses itu, mereka sentiasa menguji model pemikiran mereka terhadap realiti.

Jika ramalan mereka tersasar, mereka perlu bertanya: Mengapa?

Jika bukti bercanggah dengan andaian mereka, mereka perlu mengubah fikiran.

Jika penyelesaian pertama gagal, mereka perlu mencuba pendekatan lain.

Inilah sebenarnya proses pembelajaran yang hidup.

Ia bukan lagi hubungan sehala di mana guru menghantar maklumat dan pelajar menerimanya. Sebaliknya, pembelajaran menjadi satu sistem kognitif yang sentiasa berkembang – menerima maklumat, menguji andaian, mengenal pasti kesilapan, melakukan pembetulan dan membina semula kefahaman.

Dengan kata lain, pelajar bukan sekadar menyimpan pengetahuan. Mereka belajar mengemas kini cara mereka memahami dunia.

Mengembalikan Pendidikan kepada Kebijaksanaan

Daripada entropi maklumat Shannon kepada HOTS Bloom, kita menemukan satu titik pertemuan yang menarik antara sains, teknologi dan pendidikan.

Matlamat akhir pendidikan tidak seharusnya menghasilkan keadaan minda yang “sempurna” kerana segala-galanya telah diketahui dan setiap soalan mempunyai satu jawapan yang telah ditetapkan.

Jika itu yang kita lakukan, kita mungkin berjaya menghasilkan pelajar yang cemerlang dalam peperiksaan – tetapi belum tentu bersedia menghadapi kehidupan.

Dunia sebenar penuh dengan maklumat yang tidak lengkap, masalah yang kabur, keputusan yang berisiko dan persoalan yang tiada jawapan mudah.

Justeru, pendidik generasi baharu perlu melihat diri mereka bukan semata-mata sebagai penyampai kandungan, tetapi sebagai pencetus pemikiran.

Bilik darjah harus menjadi ruang yang membenarkan pelajar melakukan kesilapan, mengemukakan soalan yang sukar, mencabar andaian, mempertahankan pandangan dan – yang paling penting – mengubah fikiran apabila berdepan dengan bukti yang lebih baik.

Kita tidak seharusnya takut kepada ketidakpastian dalam pendidikan.

Ketidakpastian bukan musuh pembelajaran. Ia adalah bahan bakarnya.

Hanya apabila kita membenarkan wujudnya jurang antara pengetahuan sedia ada dengan realiti, barulah pelajar belajar bagaimana untuk merapatkan jurang tersebut melalui pemikiran aras tinggi.

Dalam menghadapi masa depan yang semakin tidak menentu, kelebihan sebenar seseorang bukanlah berapa banyak fakta yang mampu dihafalnya.

Sebaliknya, ia terletak pada keupayaannya untuk belajar semula, menilai semula dan berfikir semula.

Itulah peralihan yang perlu kita lakukan – daripada melahirkan “mesin yang menghafal” kepada pencipta kebijaksanaan.

Dan itulah makna pendidikan yang sebenar.

Universiti di seluruh dunia sedang mengadakan majlis konvokesyen secara berperingkat. Tetamu yang dijemput untuk merasmikan majlis dan menyampaikan ucapan kepada para graduan kini pastinya lebih berhati-hati berbanding sebelum ini.(The New Yorker)

Ekonomi global semakin perlahan, prospek perniagaan dipenuhi ketidaktentuan. Perubahan yang lebih besar pula ialah AI sedang mengubah pasaran pekerjaan dengan pantas, malah sudah mula menggantikan sebahagian pekerjaan. Dalam latar zaman seperti ini, siapakah yang masih berani dengan mudah berkata kepada anak-anak muda yang bakal melangkah ke alam pekerjaan: "Asalkan berusaha, masa depan pasti cerah."


Apabila ungkapan "berusaha pasti membawa masa depan yang cerah" tidak lagi boleh diucapkan dengan mudah, maka kita yang mengusahakan pendidikan di Malaysia juga tidak boleh mengelakkan cabaran zaman ini. Bagaimanakah kita harus membimbing generasi baharu menghadapi AI, transformasi ekonomi dan perubahan landskap industri?

Saya sentiasa memikirkan jawapannya. Apabila saya menoleh kembali kepada Piala Dunia yang baru sahaja melabuhkan tirainya dan mengaitkannya dengan industri budaya dan kreatif, saya merasakan bahawa sektor ini mungkin merupakan salah satu jalan yang wajar diterokai.

Bukan semua orang perlu menjadi pemain bola sepak. [Penyelidikan CCI ICONADA] Memperkasakan Hubungan Komuniti dan Sekolah Menengah Persendirian Cina Luar Bandar Sabah Menerusi Inovasi TVET Berasaskan Industri Kreatif (CCI)

Landskap pendidikan dan sosioekonomi di Sabah mempunyai keunikan yang tersendiri. Berbeza dengan senario di Semenanjung Malaysia, Sekolah Menengah Persendirian Cina (SMPC) di Sabah mengamalkan sistem dwi-aliran yang mewajibkan pelajar menduduki peperiksaan Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) sebelum Sijil Peperiksaan Bersama (UEC). Model inklusif ini berjaya menarik minat komuniti bukan Cina, sekali gus menjadikan SMPC di Sabah sebagai agen integrasi budaya dan perpaduan nasional yang amat berkesan.

Ini mewujudkan ekosistem menang-menang: sekolah mendapat sokongan komuniti, manakala komuniti mendapat akses kepada latihan kemahiran secara praktikal tanpa perlu berhijrah ke bandar besar.

Tambahan pula, komitmen Kerajaan Negeri Sabah yang mengiktiraf UEC untuk bantuan biasiswa negeri, serta peluang latihan TVET ke negara China yang semakin rancak ditawarkan kepada anak muda Sabah, membuka koridor baharu bagi lepasan sekolah ini. Pelajar luar bandar yang dilengkapi kemahiran TVET kreatif berpeluang melanjutkan latihan lanjutan ke peringkat global, seterusnya membawa pulang kepakaran tersebut untuk membangunkan daerah asal mereka.

Kesimpulan

Melalui pendekatan inovasi TVET berasaskan CCI, Sekolah Menengah Persendirian Cina luar bandar di Sabah mampu membuktikan bahawa peranan mereka melampaui batas etnik dan geografi. Usaha ini bukan sahaja memartabatkan pendidikan vokasional, malah memugar semula (menjana semula) ekonomi setempat selaras dengan semangat "Sabah Maju Jaya". Integrasi erat antara sekolah, industri kreatif, dan komuniti setempat inilah yang akan menjadi formula utama dalam memacu transformasi sosioekonomi luar bandar Sabah secara mampan.
