地處中國西南邊陲的“春城”昆明，座落在云貴高原上，海拔近2000米，終年溫暖如春，四季百花飄香。這里居住著漢、回、彜、白、苗、傣、哈尼、納西等各族人民，是一個具有2000多年悠久歷史和融合西南各民族文化、民俗風情的旅遊城市，以其獨特的魅力，吸引了眾多的國內外旅遊者。
昆明的名勝古跡眾多，最為著名的還數滇池和西山。這一風景區位於城西南約15公里處。浩渺的滇池廣袤300多平方公里，是一個因地層陷落而成的湖泊，而緊逼湖邊的西山，則是因斷層而聳峙在湖邊的山脈，綿亙數十公里，最高峰太華山高出滇池水面470米，山壁陡立，氣勢雄偉，山借水色。水映山光，一起一落，形成“蒼崖萬丈，綠水千尋，月印澄波，云橫絕頂”的美景，堪稱云南風光一絕。…
