鄭和下西洋---中國歷史上最燦爛輝煌的航海傳奇。鄭和於西元一四O五年，奉明朝永樂皇帝隻命首度下西洋，西元一四三三年，其所率領的第七次下西洋船隊返抵中國，這歷時二十八年的遠航壯舉，終於在這一年劃上了句點。
此一規模龐大的航海壯舉，卻因史籍的缺乏而被湮沒在十光的洪流裏。六百年後的今天，我們試圖回到工藝發展與航海科技，均為當時世界之最的明初盛世，並循著鄭和下西洋的足跡，從中國到東南亞，訪印度及阿拉伯半島，並遠至非洲東岸，試圖結合歷史文獻、現場採訪及專家學者的研究成果，以復原這場謎霧重重的歷史，解讀這段中國最壯麗的航海史詩。…
