葉靈鳳《讀書隨筆》重讀之書
小泉八雲曾勸人不要買那祇讀一遍不能使人重讀的書。這是一句意味很深長的讀書箴言，也是買書箴言。中國古語所謂書籍“汗牛充棟，浩如煙海”，在機械生產的今日，一個人即使財力和精力都勝任，恐怕也不能讀盡所有的書，買盡所有的書。因此，我們在不十分閑暇的人生忙迫之中，能忙裏偷閑，將自己所喜愛的讀過的書取出重讀一遍，實是人生中一件愉快的事。

葉靈鳳的後半生是在香港度過的。
抗日戰爭是前後的分界線。抗戰以前，他主要是在上海，幼年在九江、青年時代在鎮江，然後就到了上海，踏進文壇。“八一三”以後，日軍攻占上海，《救亡日報》南遷廣州，主持其事的是夏衍，他也到廣州參加編輯工作，編的還是新聞版。人在廣州，家在香港，他週末有時去香港看家人，一次去了香港就回不了廣州’日軍跑在他前面進了五羊城。從此他就在香港長住下來，度過了整個的下半生，除了回大陸旅行，…
