關於雲的消息常常來自《北京日報》。我有些懷疑是不是報社裏有一份專門看雲的工作，若果真如此，我簡直都有些想要應聘了。除了跟蹤報道雲，還有配套文章介紹雲的相關知識。如近日的雲是什麽雲，為什麽會這麽美之類的。時不時地，就會看到有位名叫張明英的氣象專家被記者采訪，我一直以為是位女士，查了資料才知道是位男士。…

喬葉·看云记 上
頻頻看雲是近年來的事。自到了北京，自然而然地就經常看起了雲。在這之前，我是不怎麽看雲的。因看雲似乎是很多北京人的日常，也就入鄉隨了俗。
看雲是閑事。閑事也是事。我漸漸發現，這閑事居然還是件經常能上新聞的事。順手翻一下關於雲的新聞，隔三岔五，比比皆是。
僅今年四月到六月間，我刷到的就有這麽些條——
四月二十九日：「五一」假期第一天，北京晴空萬裏。午後，天空出現一抹七彩雲帶，畫面十分美好。
五月二十七日：震撼！北京出現大片乳狀雲。
六月十日的題目是：北京的雲彩好似潑墨畫，天空如畫布，美翻了。
這天的雲實在是有些美翻了的意思，我目睹為證。這天是周六，我和朋友們在通州宋莊約聚，先是在一家書店喝咖啡閑聊，我聊天聊得心不在焉，只因一直在留意著雲。這店是整幅的玻璃幕墻，巨大的雲在窗框裏，如畫一般。——形容漂亮的實景，就說美得像畫一樣；誇畫的時候又說，看這畫得像真的一樣。我們是不是總是這般講套話？
坐著坐著，我就坐不住了，想要到這雲下。就走了出去。藍天做底，這雲美得很不真實。——雲總是不真實的，美夢…
