文化有根 創意是伴 Bridging Creativity
不過錢泳的《履園叢話》也記了磚的事情。嘉慶年間謝啟昆做浙江布政使的時候,因為整治庭院,挖出八塊磚。磚上有「永平」字樣,於是謝啟昆考定為晉惠帝永平年間的古物。得了古董,謝啟昆命名自己的書齋為「八磚書舫」,而且設宴雅集,自己賦詩紀之,和詩的多到數十人。偏偏有個人不識相,說這「永平」兩個字是明朝永平府燒造標記,古董於是不那麼古了。謝啟昆氣得大罵「你們這類嗜古家,就會穿鑿附會,一塊磚也值得深究嗎」!
錢泳記的這件事,好像不是在罵人,因為不識相的人也許說的是實話,只是不識相罷了,謝啟昆則是將雅趣看得很透,把話兜底講出來,倒有真意,誰還能再說什麼?
認真說起來,清朝在古董的趣味上是很寬的。這和大清律有關。清朝的清教意識很重,規定八旗子弟不可經商,怕受腐蝕。不經商幹什麼呢?每月領了餉銀,多也不多,物價穩定,吃穿夠了,於是只好遊手好閑,玩籠鳥,玩鷹,放鴿子,遛狗,鬥蛐蛐,收鼻菸壺,聽戲。
因為聽戲,八旗子弟養成為專業聽眾。聽戲真的是聽,不是看,眼睛是閉起來的,而且臉不朝戲臺,更專業的是鑽到戲臺下面聽。對這樣的專業聽眾,唱戲的怎麼敢唱錯?
開玩笑的話,可以說大清朝亡於不許子弟經商。一八四○年前,因為瓷器、絲、桐油的出口,清朝是白銀入超國,一仗打下來,貴戚才漸漸明白洋人是要有貿有易。清朝叁百年,如果貿易的意識健全,歷史會不會另一種樣子呢?
我有時候到宣武區遊逛,會想,古時候,這里是商業區呀。可是,它怎麼連仿冒古董的樣子也沒有了呢?
