接引殿裡的佛前燈一排一排的，每個頂著一顆小燈花燃在案子上。敲鐘的聲音一到接近黃昏時候就稀少下來，並且漸漸地簡直一聲不響了。因為燒香拜佛的人都回家去吃著晚飯。
大雄寶殿裡，也同樣啞默默地，每個塑像都站在自己的地盤上憂郁起來，因為黑暗開始掛在他們的臉上。長眉大仙，伏虎大仙，赤腳大仙，達摩，他們分不出哪個是牽著虎的，哪個是赤著腳的。他們通通安安靜靜地同叫著別的名字的許多塑像分站在大雄寶殿的兩壁。
只有大肚彌勒佛還在笑眯眯的看著打掃殿堂的人，因為打掃殿堂的人把小燈放在彌勒佛腳前的緣故。…
