我今天給大家講的題目是《沈從文筆下的北京上海文化》。
為什麼選擇了沈從文
這個題目是怎麼來的？在我看來，沈從文是這樣的作家，也許他沒有魯迅那樣的分量，但是他確實是一個可以不斷讓我們去開掘的重要的可以稱為大家的作家。而且，沈從文還有特殊的意義，就是在20世紀的中國，沈從文顯然是有更強烈的本土意識，也可以說，在他的身上更集中地體現了某些20世紀中國的文學經驗以及整個社會經驗。在他身上有比較豐富的本土經驗。從我自己重視本土經驗的角度說，當然也就對像沈從文這樣的作家予以更多的關註。…

沈從文與上海的故事
再簡略地說一下沈從文和上海的關系。
1928年1月2日，沈從文從北京來到上海，一個星期之後給北京的朋友寫信。他說，他把在上海住的稱為“塌而黴、塞”，就是很狹窄很發黴的一個小房間。他說我到上海第一個和出版社的經理見面。暫且說經理以前藐視他是因為他沒錢，藐視態度不說，假裝親熱的態度真叫人傷心哭淚。他說，明明是瞧不起我，但假裝親熱讓我更加覺得受到屈辱，我在北京就不一樣，問一個博士借五塊錢，博士馬上借給我了，北京人不把錢看得那麼重，上海人怎麼這麼怕借錢，怕借錢不要緊，但又假裝親熱。他覺得非常不舒服。…
