王鼎鈞：搖到外婆橋
抗戰發生，軍隊深入農村，而且有了遊擊隊，這些流水似的兵並沒有鐵打的營房，再小的村莊也有一套班底負責接待過境的人馬。有時候，隊伍住在鄰近的村莊，派人通知各村送飯，謂之“要給養”。一個“吃飯看飯鍋”的家庭，“針挑土”積攢的東西，只好慢慢地消耗掉。莊稼人也有幽默感，說是“老鼠替貓攢著”。
好處是再也沒有土匪，土匪全變成遊擊隊。當年土匪橫行，做土匪的小頭目也曾是人生的一種理想，像我這般年齡的人，大都記得：
要嫁嫁個當家的，
吃香的，喝辣的，
盒子槍，誇誇的，…

詩人鄭愁予的名句：“出門一步，便是江湖。”離家五百里算是很遠了吧，哪想到後來更遠，更遠……
我一生漂泊無定。十四歲的時候開始“半流亡”，離開家，沒離開鄉。十七歲正式流亡，離開鄉，沒離開國。後來“國”也離開了。滾動的石頭不長青苔，一身之外，只有很多很多故事說不完。
現代中國，有個名詞叫流亡學生，它前後有三個梯次：第一梯次，“九一八”事變發生，東北青年入關。第二梯次，“七七”抗戰開始，沿海各省青年內遷。第三梯次，內戰期間，各地青年外逃。我是第二梯次，也就是抗戰時期的流亡學生。那時流亡是一種潮流，流亡的青年千萬百萬，流亡很苦，很孤獨，有時也壯烈，危險。…
