步朝霞·自我指涉性：從雅各布森到羅蘭·巴特 5
正如詹姆遜所指出：「布萊希特的『間離效果』從字面意義上正是什克洛夫斯基的『陌生化』。」（Jameson：58）二者的含義也是相通的，只是布萊希特的「間離效果」主要發生在文學程式的層次上，其更新意識的功能主要體現在文學程式的意識形態批判力量。巴特在評論時說布萊希特「擯棄所有導致逼真的風格」。（Barthes，1972：35）逼真是傳統的意義機制，「間離效果」就是對這一傳統程式的挑戰。布萊希特的戲劇阻止觀眾與人物的共鳴，觀眾為了理解戲劇，就必須在一定的距離之外，反思其藝術手法。
