生活為了工作，還是工作為了生活？
盡管歐洲的生產率已經達到美國水平的92%～97%（視參數如何調整而定），歐盟的人均收入卻只有美國人均收入的72%。我們怎樣解釋這種偏差？部分的差異在於歐洲較低的雇傭率就總人口而言較低的雇傭數原因是退休年齡的不同和失業率。但是75%的差異應該歸諸於歐盟較短的工作時間[37]。
事實上法國和歐盟其他所有國家的工人都選擇了更多的閑暇，而非更長的工作時間和更高的報酬。法國政府在1999年規定每周工作時間為35小時。…
