但你，神聖的你，最後還在響的你，
一旦為成群被鄙棄的狂婦所襲擊，
便以和聲蓋過了她們的叫囂，你美麗的，
你熏陶人心的演奏從破壞者中間升起。
她們一個也不能破壞你的頭顱和豎琴
不管她們如何憤怒扭打，而且她們猛投
到你心坎的尖利的石頭
對你將變得太軟，並天生能夠傾聽。
最後她們為復仇心嗾使，把你打得稀爛，
當時你的音響還逗留在巖石和獅子體內
在樹木和鳥群中間，你現在還在那兒詠嘆。
哦你消失了的神！你無盡的痕跡！
只因敵意最後猛然把你支配，
我們作為自然的嘴巴，現在還聽得見你。
