耶穌回到家鄉宣講，人們驚訝地說：“他不是那個木匠的兒子嗎？他的母親不是瑪利亞嗎？雅各、約瑟、西門和猶大不都是他的弟弟嗎？他的妹妹們不是住在我們這里嗎？他這一切究竟從哪里來的呢？”於是他們厭棄他。

周國平·一天的難處一天擔當
“你們不要為明天憂慮，明天自有明天的憂慮；一天的難處一天擔當就夠了。”耶穌有一些很聰明的教導，這是其中之一。
中國人喜歡說：人無遠慮，必有近憂。這當然也對。不過，遠慮是無窮盡的，必須適可而止。有一些遠慮，可以預見也可以預作籌劃，不妨就預作籌劃，以解除近憂。有一些遠慮，可以預見卻無法預作籌劃，那就暫且擱下吧，車到山前自有路，何必讓它提前成為近憂。還有一些遠慮，完全不能預見，那就更不必總是懷著一種莫名之憂，自己折磨自己了。總之，應該盡量少往自己的心里擱憂慮，保持輕鬆和光明的心境。 …

周國平·小孩、富人和天國
門徒問耶穌：“在天國里誰最偉大？”耶穌叫來一個小孩，說：“除非你們改變，像小孩一樣，你們絕不能成為天國的子民。像這小孩那樣謙卑的，在天國里就是最偉大的。”
為什麽像小孩一樣才能進入天國呢？我一直以為是因為單純，耶穌在這里卻說是因為謙卑。小孩謙卑嗎？他們不是一個個都驕傲如天生的王公貴人，不把人世間的權勢、財富和規矩放在眼里嗎？
