朱幼棣《后望書》調水沿線，水價如潮上漲（下）
時代的局限。不僅是楚國早期的都城遺址，還有許多漢唐的古跡，同樣被沒入了水底。其中包括規模宏大的香岩寺下寺。這座寺院歷史上高僧輩出，在不少佛教典籍中都有記載。
作為南水北調中線工程的水源，丹江水庫需要加高大壩。即使如此，丹江與漢水是否有足夠的水量也是值得疑問。按水利部原有的規劃，年可調水量190億立方米。不為什麽，後來又減少到150億立方米，2002年底再縮減為130億立方米，投資為1700億立方米。工程剛剛動工，計劃調水量就不斷減少，僅僅是漢江水量不穩定性的反映？
先節水，後調水的原則，還停留紙上和文件上——事實上調水工程的積極性，大大高於節水。有人提出，為了保證南水北調有水量，需要從長江三峽庫區再往丹江口調水——一個工程剛剛啟動，下一個項目又打算接上來了。總之，有幹不完的活。…

冬日的下午，我泛舟在丹江口水庫。漢水與丹江，在這里匯合。青山如黛，水平似鏡，景色優美。
漢水和丹江，是中國古代溝通長江與黃河又一重要水道。特別是當中原戰亂、黃河奪淮造成水運交通中斷以後，這條水道就更顯得重要。歷史上，許多驚心動魄的戰事，都在這條大通道上發生。南宋時期，元兵沿漢水南下，荊襄陷落，時局崩潰。李自城退出北京，回到西安，也是沿這條通路敗退湖北，最後在九宮山被殺。
丹江在湖北與陜西的崇山峻嶺間，倏然掉頭南下——紫荊關就據於這山與河之間。…
