凱林拉斯蘭: 國家的意義與價值
早上7時，我搖搖欲墜地坐在吉打港口一個腐朽了一半的木頭港口上。5個小時後，我上了一艘25英尺的小型玻璃鋼船，在馬六甲海峽中央學習如何捲起漁網。
我一口一口地抽著手捲香煙，一旁說話輕聲細語的船主向我保證，他絕對不會讓兒子步他後塵。
一天后，在我身旁的是一個染著一頭橙髮、準備檢查車子引擎的修車師傅。來自喬治市的他載著我遊走在檳島上，並且將他以往與賽車、興奮劑、冒險、死亡為伍的日子及後來救贖的經過說給我聽。
一個星期後，我赫然發現自己正在根地咬出席一場馬來語的天主教婚禮。…
