當今華夏，雖說經濟總量世界老二，但政治修明、文化建設以及一般人民之行止出處的文明修養，有待提升。因而，遠人不服，也是意料中事。......吾人須知，一個尚未完成現代轉型的國族，其之參與地緣政治博弈和全球治理，必有賴國家政治走上正軌，無心腹之憂，才可伸展手腳，也才能於國際博弈中添籌加碼。

西方執精神界牛耳的基督教提倡否定現世關心來世，對人世間一切均無興趣，這樣一種價值取向也不利於科學技術的發展。這種取向在其誕生時代即羅馬帝國後期與中世紀千年黑暗時期流行可以理解，在中世紀後期新型城市文明興起市民經濟繁榮人們重新對塵世生活和探索自然充滿興趣之時，仍執著於此就可能成為障礙，如教會對伽利略與哥白尼的審判臭名昭著。所幸市民經濟的力量非常強大，後來新興的市民階級借助於覆興古代洋溢著理性主義精神的文化而使自己的精神得到伸張，這樣一種精神伴隨新型城市文明興起並通過文藝覆興、宗教改革和啟蒙運動得到進一步傳播，為科學家創造精神的成長和科技革命的到來準備了條件。
