      Amazing, even 32 years after the first screening. Yes, the way Beatty and Christie look into each other’s eye is so telling, it is a mixture of attraction, passion and curiosity. Yes, we are all but an inquiring child in the face of fate, but with love around, there is no fear.

      You are a different man now; we are strangers to each other. You have no memory of your previous life; you find it difficult to find the right words to say something precisely about our encounter. Yet, in your new self, I can still see something in you, hear something in you. And, I know, you sense it too.

      So we walk out of the stadium and have a cup of coffee somewhere. Love is a destiny, and it is so intense. My feeling is still intense, though it’s a movie shown before I was born.

这片子很有意思，虽然在网恋像快熟面一样方便的年代，到茫茫人海中去印证一个诺言，看起来很难思议。尤其是关系到“我死後会再回来”这样的事，谁不怕？但那是一个相信爱情的年代，不是现在那种偶像剧式的爱情，而是在现实生活中由于冲突而诞生的爱情，由于命运而曲折演变的爱情。不管命运有怎样不合理的打算，我们还是会重逢的。那时，虽然我们不再认识彼此，但我们心里感受得到，你就是他/她了，而愿意一道去喝杯咖啡。
