新鮮運到的香蕉,像只巨梳,顏色亮黃,肉體堅實,其實最不好吃,因為不夠香,而且有點澀。「有『雀斑』的香蕉才好吃呢!」這是會家子選擇。
這樣說有點俏皮,但較正確,或較恐怖的說法:——那些出現在香蕉身上的,應該是「屍斑」。
專家告訴我們,人死後,身體機能停止運作,血管會漸爆裂,血水滲出皮膚,形成褐色斑點。死去時間越長,屍斑出得越多。但肌肉受壓的部份,不會呈現屍斑,如仰臥而死,斑點便在身前;俯伏,則在背後.驗屍官據此可以推斷屍體的死因,死亡時間,和曾否被人移動過,協助破案。
說回水果吧。
每一個水果,脫離了枝幹,初期仍是頑強支撐著,如搭架子,但它們已經一天一天步向腐爛了。人們買下水果,嫌生,擱在一旁暫且不吃,為了等待它們『成熟』。在變壞之前一刻,水果迸發生命的餘暉,那個時候最熟,最甜,最香,肉有點軟,斑點微現,又未走下坡。我們吃水果,實在是吃它們最後的燦爛,也是一不歸路。
香蕉,木瓜,蜜瓜,菠蘿,西柚,李子,啤梨,桃子……,都適合購買後一兩天吃,不要太急。牛油果也是,不過它不比香蕉,雀斑會光明正大地顯示,它臉色比較深沈,看不出端倪。
各位,希望不影響你們吃香蕉的心情。
