有一年，因為身體不好已經拖了快十一個月了，西班牙醫生看了好多個，總也找不出毛病，也止不住我的“情緒性大出血”。那一陣，只要又出血了，臉上就有些不自在，斜斜的躺在床上，聽見丈夫在廚房裏煮菜的聲音，我就恨自己恨得去打墻。可是丈夫不許我起床，就連要去客廳看電視，都是由他抱出去放在沙發上的，一步也不給走。
為了怕再拖累他，我決定飛回台灣進入“榮民總醫院”來檢查。那一年，丈夫正好失業在家，婚後我們從來沒有離開過那麽遠，而手邊的積蓄只夠買一個人的來回機票。為著丈夫不能一起來台灣——只為了經濟上的理由，上機前的那幾天，丈夫的眼角沒有幹過。…
