紀伯倫《珍趣篇》我的心重負著累累果實（下）
噢！但願他是一個被遺棄的貧者！
但願他是一個四處飄零的遊蕩者，手持一根拐杖，肘挎一只水罐。當夜晚降臨時，彎曲的小巷將他和他那些四處飄零的乞丐夥伴聚在一起。於是他坐在他們的身旁，同他們分享施舍的面包！
這是一位最了不起的國王的公主，她從睡夢中醒來，起身下了床榻，穿上紅衫綠裙，戴上珍珠寶石，頭髮灑上麝香，手指浸過龍涎香，然後信步走出，來到她的花園。她漫步時，露珠兒打濕了她的衣招。
在夜的靜謐中，最了不起國王的公主正在她的花園中尋覓她的情人。可是在她父親的王國裏沒有她所愛的人。…

我的心重負著累累果實，哪位饑餓者來采摘，來消受，來分享？
在人們中間難道就沒有一位齋戒者，以我的果實為晨齋，讓我從豐腴的重擔下獲得一些快慰嗎？
我的心在金和銀的重壓下已精疲力竭，人們中有誰來裝滿他的衣袋，從而減輕我的負擔？
我的心滿載著歲月的陳釀，哪一位焦渴者來斟飲，來滿足？
這是一位站立街心的男人，他向過往行人伸出捧滿珠寶的手，呼喚著他們："行行好吧！從我這裏拿些去吧！發發慈悲吧！把我這兒的東西拿去吧！"可是人們仍然走著，頭也不回。…
