湖面上仿佛堆著冰塊，霧氣被如此奇異地、粗暴地破壞。村雞和天鵝的叫聲此起彼落。…

普里什文《大自然的日曆》天鵝
昨夜星月爭輝，天氣奇寒，今晨一切都成了白色。大雁還在原地吃草，又增添了新的一隊，它們從湖里飛到田野上，總共有兩百來只。黑琴雞午前一直停在樹上，嘴里喋喋不休。後來天空陰沈了下來，變得又潮又冷。
午後，太陽復又出現，一直到晚上，天氣都很美好。有兩棵金色的小白樺，在總毀滅中居然能幸存下來，我們為之高興不已。風從北面吹來，黝黑的湖水很不平靜。一隊天鵝從天而降。聽說天鵝在我們這兒逗留很久很久，當湖里除掉中央一小塊地方外都已結了冰，車馬已經利用冬天的道路，徑直在冰上行走的時候，在靜謐的黑夜里，往往可以聽見湖心某處有低沈的談話聲——還以為是人哩，原來卻是天鵝，它們在尚未結冰的湖心聊天。…
