基督教分為天主教、東正教、新教三個派別，這是大家比較容易接受的通行的說法。基督教起源於東方的西亞，之後這種東方宗教向西方廣泛流傳。歷史上除了基督教之外，還有猶太教、彌特剌斯教、摩尼教、祆教和諾斯替教等，中國的道教也可以算是一種宗教。盡管各個宗教的起源、儀典和名稱術語各不相同，但還是有諸多共通之處。這些宗教的教義都有這樣的特征：強調真理的啟示性、救世的願望、先知或救世主、善惡兩分法、施洗儀式、教化教外人士等等。…
