嚴歌苓《穗子物語》第12章 白麻雀 (16)
小蓉和斑瑪措並排坐在長途汽車座位上，骯髒的玻璃窗外是呆板的冬景。小蓉打定主意在下一個宿營點甩下斑瑪措。而宿了兩夜，斑瑪措分分秒秒跟著她照應她的傷手，替她拎包、開門、解褲帶、擠牙膏、擰毛巾……
第三天，剛出發不久就遇見車禍。三輛運木材的卡車撞成一溜，在狹窄的公路上堆出小半個伐木場，小蓉跳下車，前後望望，兩頭都是望不到頭的車隊。她一摸身上，說：“糟了老斑，老子把挎包丟了。”斑瑪措知道小蓉挎包裏裝著采集來的曲譜，但她不知道那是小蓉裝模作樣胡亂記下的幾首當地小調。
斑瑪措說：“車開出來最多十里路，我跑一趟吧。”
小蓉又看看現場，受傷的司機在路邊生起火，向山下伐木連求救。她說等伐木連爬上山來，搬掉木材，恐怕要到下午了。…
