廖靜仁·資江船夫曲（下）
此時，船已進了崩洪灘的咽喉處，兩面懸崖壓得江面陡地窄了。灘嘯聲轟轟隆隆，仿佛千萬副石磨一齊在這江峽中碾過。只聽見整個船身都在哢吧哢吧地響，那床堵著船底窟洞的破棉絮，早已被噝噝噴湧的水柱沖開了……我的心猛然一跳，趕緊摟過棉絮，用整個身子向洞口撲去……但是，過失已無法彌補，由於水的沖勁增加，那窟洞越來越大了。我向父親投去恕罪的驚恐的目光，但父親根本就來不及里意我了。
他在用全副精力操持著舵柄，而母親正把竹篙攥得嘰嘰作響，狠狠地對準迎面逼來的前方拐彎處的陡崖……這是一幅怎樣的驚心動魄的場景哪! 激流挾著颶風，呼嘯著向鐵青色的陡崖撞去，陡崖是雷打不動的，一個又一個浪濤全都被它掉成細碎的水沫……悲劇終於發生了：船頭絕望地向東天一翹，“咕嚕”一聲便被卷進了深淵中……
我只把雙目緊緊地閉著，等待死神把我狠狠地摔向前面的陡崖……就在這千釣一髮的時刻，我突然感覺到有一隻巨擘把我鉗住了，正一起一伏地托舉著我，繼而像扔軟皮球一樣把我扔在了江岸上……——父親哪! ——母親哪!…
