在阿曼，不得在齋月期間在公眾場合吃東西、喝水等。不得有輕侮國王的行為。用餐時不能用左手，不要用食指或中指比畫。不允許和女性交談或拍攝女性照片。阿曼人同非阿拉伯國家的外籍人行握手禮;對阿拉伯國家的人行擁抱和親吻禮，但只限於同性。男子不可斜視婦女，不可行握手禮，只可點頭示意。主人端出阿拉伯咖啡來請客時，一定要接受，不要時必須左右搖手示意。
我在阿曼任期結束即將回國時，一位與我過往甚密的資深內閣大臣送我一盒阿曼特產——乳香。打開簡單的包裝，只見粒粒珍珠般大小、晶瑩剔透、白裏透黃的乳香，散發出淡淡的芬芳氣息。憑直覺，我感到這是一盒乳香中的極品。朋友深情地對我說，歷史上阿曼最早與中國交往是通過“海上香料之路”進行的，乳香見證了中阿兩國人民源遠流長的友誼。今後一旦想起我們，乳香可以圓你重回阿曼之夢。…
