希尼（Seamus Heaney）詩選《鐵路兒童》
當我們爬上路塹的斜坡
我們的眼睛便與電報桿上的白磁杯
和噝噝發響的電線齊平。
像可愛的悠閑之手它們向東向西蜿蜒
好幾英里直到我們看不見，懸垂
在它們被燕子壓著的負荷之下。
我們很小並且自忖我們不知道
那些值得知道的事。我們料想文字在電線上行走
藏在那一小袋一小袋閃閃發亮的雨滴里，
每一袋都種子般裝滿了
天上的光，生輝的句子，而我們
相比之下是如此地無窮小
簡直可以一下字穿過針眼。
