今年八月，日本國際交流基金會邀請我和家人訪日十五天，去了東京，和東京附近的鐮倉；北海道的劄幌、小樽和定山溪；還有關西地區的京都、奈良和大阪。
這是十分美好的旅程，二十多年前我開始閱讀川端康成的小說時，就被他敘述的細膩深深迷住了，後來又在其他日本作家那裏讀到了類似的細膩，日本的文學作品在處理細部描述時，有著難以言傳的豐富色彩和微妙的情感變化，這是日本文學獨特的氣質。 （劄幌）…

日本水鄉潮來菖蒲園
我們認識一個地方，許多時候是從一首歌開始。例如，因為韓國的Psy的Oppa Gangnam Style，而認識了首爾的江南區。更早的，因為橋幸夫的“潮來笠”而認識到日本茨城縣潮來水鄉。
