普里什文《大自然的日曆》黃鸝
松樹上的花穗像蠟燭似的，老遠就能看見。黑麥高及膝蓋。樹木、蒿草、花，都披上華麗的衣衫。早春的小鳥安靜下來了：公鳥換毛，躲到嚴實的地方去，母鳥守在巢里節食；野獸忙於為子女覓食；農民們要春耕春播，又要放牧，忙得不可開交。
黃鸝、鵪鶉、雨燕、岸燕飛來了。一場夜雨以後，早晨濃霧彌漫，後來出了太陽，起了風。日落以前，風向變了，從我們的山上向湖里吹去，但是水面漣漪卻仍然久久地向這邊泛來。太陽從藍雲里落到森林後面，好像一個不發光的毛茸茸的大球。

普里什文《大自然的日曆》水蛾出來了
兩條河，一條注入奧卡河，另一條注入伏爾加河；一條流經肥沃的奧波利耶，另一條流經多沼澤的扎列西耶。德列夫良人不知為什麼把兩條河都叫做涅爾利。我們從謝米諾湖繼續前行所走的是大涅爾利河，另一條是小涅爾利河。兩條河之間有一段可以拉過船只的低地，兩條河都沿著一條路從扎列西耶流到奧波利耶去，也許就是因為這個緣故，完全不同的兩條河才都叫一個名字。
我們在大涅爾利河中航行，一路上兩邊全是單調的沼澤，河道總是拐過來又拐過去，以至於科普尼諾村的教堂有半天工夫離得很近，有半天工夫遙遙可望。岸上的一個地方，有一個年輕的牧人在學吹喇叭，這聲音我們也幾乎整天可以聽見，時強時弱。
