瑪雅人深信一棵大木棉樹立在地球的中心，

其宏偉的樹冠象徵著天空，

而它的花象徵著星星。

今天，木棉樹仍然是一個真正的生命之樹，

支撐著充滿活力的熱帶雨林植物和動物的生命。

The ancient Mayan word for the Kapok tree means 'raised up sky'.

The Maya believed that a great Kapok tree stood at the center of the earth.

Its magnificent canopy symbolized the heavens

and its flowers symbolized the stars.

Today, the Kapok tree remains a true tree of life,

supporting vital rainforest plant and animal life.
