文化有根 創意是伴 Bridging Creativity
雖然愛德華·霍普畫的多是紐約州的情形,但我卻每次都真切地想起中西部我生活過的那個小城。
暮色蒼茫中的高速公路,加油站的燈光尖銳地劃開一道明亮但冰涼的光線,那是黃昏時在公路邊見到最多的情形。燦爛無比的陽光射進酒店房間敞開的窗裏,有人坐在床上,一言不發地望著室外,寂寞地縮著不再年輕圓潤的肩膀。霍普一筆一劃地畫出美國式的寂寞和空曠。
沿著公路從愛荷華到伊利諾伊,從密蘇里到明尼蘇達,廣袤的平原上,到處都是霍普表達出的遼闊,和藏在遼闊裏無言的傷懷。那些在大房子下小小的人影,側著臉的女人,在大窗邊戴帽子的女人,獨自站在正在加油的老式汽車旁的男人,明明坐在一桌子同伴之中喝著什麽,卻將臉埋在陰影中的男人。他們只是有點茫然若失,好像卡佛那些有頭沒尾,但令人難忘的短篇小說人物。
一種不尋常的詩意,在寂寥失意的感懷中和壓迫人的巨大空洞中漸漸升起,那是茫然若失後面滾燙的渴望。世界殘缺了,沈重不堪的詩意才能從碎裂的溝壑裏噴發出來,如霍普畫出的世界。
看似美滿的世界總會隨著時間一點點碎裂下來。它從來不完美,後來就連完整都說不上。但看到的殘破多了,就能發現裏面蕩漾著的詩意,有了它的陪襯,殘缺的世界便變得充滿感情和意義,它比我們在閱歷膚淺時為自己勾畫出來的完美世界動人。閱歷教會我們憐憫,於是我們的感情變得深厚,心也變得柔軟。
