王敖：詩的神經與文明的孩子 6
在1934年，威廉斯這樣寫是具有一定的實驗性的，他對具體的日常經驗點到為止，但讓更多的暗示隨著閱讀揮發出來，也就是讓人「玩味」——體會那麼涼，那麼甜所造成的效果，再回頭去想「請原諒我」這個表達里到底蘊藏了多少意味。這種關於「味道」，「偷吃」，「請求原諒」的意義組合，很容易讓讀者回顧「偷吃禁果」的古老母題，性的暗示也被凸顯出來，我們被告知這個便條是詩人留給妻子的。這種詩可以說是一個小型的感官實驗室，讀者共享的關於味覺的體驗是我們對某種直感的回憶，經過意義的組合與篩選，可以促成一個比較有效的闡釋。顯然，這個闡釋本身是次要的，所謂的語感是成就這首詩的關鍵，親密低語中的清甜的愉悅感，輕柔的微顫的吐氣間的羞慚喚醒了讀者的感官，並在神經的反應中輕捷地制造出一個瞬間的回路，讓我們一次次地跟隨它的挑逗，讓意義在重演的過程中呈現變化的姿態。…
