向凋謝於憂郁的面具下的臉，
我鞠躬。
向我忘卻了淚水的道路，
向死去的、綠如雲朵
臉上高懸著一片帆的父親，
我鞠躬
向為了祈禱並擦亮皮鞋
（在我的國家，我們全都祈禱
並擦亮皮鞋）而被賣掉的一個孩子，
向我將饑餓刻於其上的岩石
它們是滾動在我眼皮下的
閃電和雨，
向一座我在流浪中帶走了泥土的房間，
我鞠躬。
所有這些是我的祖國
而不是大馬士革。
