秦牧：榴梿漫憶

我有一個姊姊，十八歲時結婚，婚後到了泰國，一去就是四十年，到了她五十八歲，兒孫繞膝的時候，抑制不住強烈的鄉思，摒擋行裝，一九七六年毅然回國來探親了。行前，她寫信問我道：“弟弟，你想要什麼吃的東西嗎？你想要什麼用的東西嗎？告訴我，我都可以帶給你。”我回信給她，告訴她我什麼都不缺，她毋需帶給我什麼；如果一定要帶點什麼東西回來，那就帶一件鱷魚皮制成的工藝品，和一點兒榴梿（也叫“榴蓮”）果糕吧。

後來，姊姊果然回來了，我們像做小孩子時代一樣互相捶著笑鬧，還互相做著鬼臉。幾十年沒見，彼此鬢生華髮，在新中國重逢的時候，那種高興勁兒，自然是不待說的了。

姊姊果然拿出一件鱷魚皮制的工藝品給我，又從旅行箱裏掏出一個塑料罐來，裏面裝的是重糖腌制的榴梿果肉，她說：“試試吧！榴梿果糕不能完全保存原來的風味，這用加糖辦法保存起來的榴梿果肉，卻能夠把味道保持得好好的。哎，為了這罐東西，我在泰國飛香港的飛機上挨夠旅客們的罵了。”…
