葛劍雄：鄭和究竟為何下西洋
鄭和為什麽要下西洋，按照《明史·鄭和傳》的說法，“成祖疑惠帝亡海外，且欲耀兵異域，示中國富強”。
第一個目的是為了尋找建文帝朱允炆的下落，實際是毫無根據的。
據成書最早的明朝官方史書《成祖實錄》記載，朱允炆是在燕王朱棣（成祖）的軍隊進入京師（今南京）後，在宮中自焚的。但民間一直有他削發為僧，從地道中逃脫的傳說，並逐漸演變為完整的故事，清初谷應泰作《明史紀事本末》，有《建文遜國》一卷作詳細記述。 …

北京三不老胡同：鄭和老家
鄭和得賜姓於北京東壩 青年到老年住三不老胡同
我國古代航海家鄭和，原姓馬，小字三保，雲南昆明人。1381年冬，明朝軍隊進攻雲南，10歲的馬三保被擄入明營，成為太監。後被選入在北平的燕王府，服侍燕王朱棣。他後來的賜姓取自北京鄭家壩（東壩），青年到老年住在“三不老胡同”，北京人對這位中國歷史上偉大的航海家，有更特殊的親緣。…
