從戰爭中走出來，大部分柬埔寨人都很窮困，可是我每次看見他們，不管他們當時的處境多艱難，他們還是那麼和善，臉上還掛著笑容。你的眼眶不能不忽然發熱。

Most Cambodians are poor due to wars of the yesteryears, yet, every time when I see them, they may be in a hardship they have all the reasons to complaint about though, they are just as friendly as usual. Much more than that, they smile. Thinking about it, my eyes feel warm.
