鄭永年：中國文化的“巫術化”及其後果（1）
在西方，除了文化啟蒙之外，還有商業文化的啟蒙。很多學者發現，商業的發展，對西方世界走出宗教神權的愚昧時代起到了很大的作用。商業使人變得理性，因為商業從本質上說是一種可以量化的經濟分析。人們無需求助於神和上帝，就可以算計和預測經濟活動。在改革開放以來，中國也發生了商業革命。但中國的商業革命不但沒有使人變得理性，反而使人變得瘋狂。
商業一旦產生，就拋掉了所有的道德和價值，GDP主義和貨幣主義橫行，就以貨幣來衡量所有的一切，包括人的靈魂。金錢至上貨幣崇拜的現象，本身就與精神領域的供給不足、精神文化需求得不到發展有很大的關係。（實際上，一些宗教領域本身的高度商業化更能說明這個問題。）沒有多少人會否認，今天的中國盡管具有一個越來越巨大的經濟體，但文化則是虛空的。…
