《最巴闭的婚礼》

你知道司南马自开埠以来最特殊或最"巴闭"的婚礼吗?
古时候在中国最古老的交通工具有轿子, 结婚迎亲时则有用人抬的轿子, 有人骑马或驴子, 后来还有马车迎亲; 新时代最豪华的莫过于用劳斯莱斯来迎亲, 但是在司南马的八十多年前却出现过一场别开生面的婚礼!
那是1932年时司南马"信丰"宝号, 杨信丰公子杨宝明娶第二房太太时的婚礼, 当时的迎亲队伍异常壮大, 出动了大象来迎亲, 据说几乎全司南马埠的人都赶来观礼, 其婚宴则请完了全司南马的埠众, 那一场流水宴由早请到晚, 有些人合家前来家中都不煮饭了, 更有些矿工吃完了午餐再来吃晚餐。
杨宝明第二房太太就是一位英政府华裔官员的千金, 在那个时代的华人能当上公务员确实是件很光彩的事情, 而从事橡胶业的杨信丰能有一位当官的亲家也是非常体面的事情, 所以这一门婚事可说是门当户对了, 以大象来迎亲更加是"巴闭"的不得了, 在当时更传为一段佳话。不信, 请问埠上年老的一辈, 即使他们没见到过, 也许曾听过吧!
后注：“巴闭”~广东方言词，具有“特殊”或“了不起”之意。
