夢：私我的神話〈Private Myths: Dreams & Dreaming〉06
每個人，每株植物，每只動物只有一個與生俱來的目標－－實現它既有的自我。－－佩爾茲
佩爾茲是完形（Gestalt）派心理治療法的創始人，但一般稱許他的的論點的原創性卻有些言過其實。他對夢理論的主要貢獻是：主張把一個夢的所有特征和象征符號都當着做夢者個人心理的直接表達。
佩爾茲當之無愧的功勞是，藉角色扮演的方式把夢中顯現的部分人格帶入清明的意識。例如，你夢見自己開着一再熄火的老爺車爬坡，此時後座有個女人在自言自語說着挑毛病的話。按佩爾茲的做法，會讓你說出你的想法，不但要說出前座開車者的感想，也要說出後座女子的感想。
