If you have not heard of Synergy Dance at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. This is what we do.

Synergy Dance Theatre, formed in 2004, is a non-government organisation that was founded by Christopher Liew Vui Ngee, with an aim to enrich art in life and make Kota Kinabalu a city of art.

It also concentrates very much on developing potential the performing art in the culture of Borneo. Christopher Liew Vui Ngee, the chairperson of Synergy Dance Theatre obtained the ‘Outstanding Youth Award’ and ‘Hwa Kang Award’ in Taiwan 4 years back.

He then was awarded the ‘Best Choreography Award’ for his dance piece ‘Funeral’ in the National Dance Competition held in Melaka in 2008.

He later on led SJK Good Shepherd (B class primary school with less than 500 students) and won champions with another dance piece titled ‘Rain’ in the Dance Competition among primary schools in 2009 in both district (Kota Kinabalu) and state (Sabah) level.
