「親密空間」專題，親密空間與同性戀、青少年和身體等話題相交融，並探討了如何通過 親密性實現有效的民族誌研究。身體[77,78] 、餐廳[79] 、文化風情區[80] ，甚至是網絡空間[81,82] 都蘊含著親密性。

親密性通過身體、空間和情感而實現其流動。如Dennis等研究了國家霸權和心理創傷如何通過植根於穆斯林移民身體的親密性而實現跨區域的流動，從而控製 其身體和家的親密空間[77] ；Eldridge則通過對倫敦街頭隨地小便群體的研究，發現親密感 通過共同的憤怒宣泄和身體展現而實現在該群體中流動[78] 。

隨著網絡社區的興起，網絡 空間所蘊含的情感和親密性也受到了學者的關注。如Race探索了同性戀群體的艾滋病預 防倫理，發現同性戀網絡社區所形成的「情感氛圍」和「同志文化」對艾滋病群體與非 艾滋病群體的性交往行為起著重要的調解和規範作用[81-82] 。 情感地理學對親密空間的關註也延續著人類學民族誌方法中關於「如何進入他者文 化」的話題。

事實上，親密性即是情感距離的相互關係，也認識他者和感受他者存在感的過程。 在情感地理學看來，地理學家的身體應該是能感知被研究者情感的樂器[83] 。對親密空間的研究也要求調查者置身與該親密空間之中，否則情感也難以在調查者與參與者之間傳遞和流動。

如Meunier解釋了如何通過「移情」的方法進入青少親密空間而實現了高效的調查研究[84] ，而Evers發現共同的體育參與營造的親密空間能消除研究者與被研究 者間的權力不平等[83] ，這也啟示研究者在學術研究中更多地要打開自己的情感和感受。

3.2.3 政治與情感地理

情感地理學對政治問題的研究主要集中在兩個方面：在政治和地 理的語境下探討行動主義 （activism）、抵抗 （resistance） 與情感的關係，以及這種關係如何通過不同的空間尺度實現其生產與再生產；城市與公共空間下特定情感與政治行動的關係，其中恐懼感尤為引人注意。

ESS 於 2009 年第 2 期開設「行動主義與情感持續性」專題探討情感對激發和維持政治行動的重要意義。Brown從地方、集體認同、身體 和人際關系幾個維度構建起了行動主義的情感空間[85] 。Wilkinson在對英國反資本主義組織的研究中發現，階層情感和認同構成行動主義文化的重要方面，為抗議行為提供了持續的情感源泉[86] 。

情感地理學註重在社區和日常生活中尋找激發行動主義的情感因素， 如Horton對英國母親參與「確保開端計劃」的研究中，揭示了有社區情感激發的「隱性 的行動主義」對推動社會改革的重要意義[87] ；Askins則以自身的學術研究生活為例，分 析了情感如何激發學者的政治行動[88] 。

隨著工業化和全球化進入全盛時期，恐怖主義、環境汙染、疾病和貧富差距等問題 加速了城市與恐懼感的結合。Pain 於 2009 年系統回顧了地理學對恐懼感的研究，發現 「恐懼全球化」的敘述已廣泛呈現在地理學文獻中，並建議在不同的尺度下開展情感的政 治地理研究[89] 。

ESS於2011年第4期設立「城市性、恐懼感與政治行動」專題，探索城市不斷更新的恐懼感與政治行動的相互關系。Boudreau發現嚴峻的政治氛圍產生的恐懼感和不安全感促使人民對英雄主義的渴望，恐懼感成為一種政治行動的工具[90] 。

Olstead 在恐懼感的性別政治研究中，發現女性邊緣作業 （天空跳躍、攀岩等高風險活動） 背後隱藏著女性對恐懼感、風險與自我認同的協商，其實質是一種女性主義的政治行動[91] 。Pe drazzini則將目光投向後殖民時期城市的恐懼感問題，從另類的視角分析了對街頭匪幫的 恐懼感具有維持對「草根階層」關註的作用，其背後折射的是全球化過程中的南北不公 平現象[92] 。此外，城市犯罪的恐懼感[93] 、賣淫者對霸權的恐懼感[94] 也反映了後現代城市的 困惑。 3.2.4 教育與情感地理 2000-2001 年，教育學家 Hargreaves 提出了「教學的情感地理」 的嶄新概念，用於解釋在學校空間下教師情感與教育改革等問題[95-97] ，開始了同時從空間 和情感的角度對教育問題的研究。Hargreaves提出了「在情感的親密性和距離實現情感 理解」的理論框架，從社會文化地理、道德地理、專業地理、政治地理和自然地理五個 維度組建起了教師的情感地理[96] 。而Evans則將該理論框架運用於近十年美國教育改革對 促進家庭參與度的檢驗中[98] 。
