舊時的詩人真是一些胡塗蛋，
見到枝葉晚合就聯想到合歡。
他們說看到我們就能夠消忿，
我們自己倒感覺到忿恨不堪！
所謂“馬纓”實際是我們的雄蕊。
木材可以制器，皮是驅蟲藥料。
我們植根甚深，可以保持水土，
我們建議：快把“合歡”之名取消！
