Ｋ走出門來，跨進寒風呼嘯的大街，在黑暗裏張望著。天氣壞透，壞透。他又回想起老板娘是怎樣竭力想逼迫他向那份會談記錄讓步，他自己又是怎樣堅持過來的，仿佛在這兩者之間有著某種聯系似的。老板娘的用心自然不是直截了當表示的，她同時還在暗暗地促使Ｋ反對這份會談記錄；事實上，他到底是頂住了呢，還是終於讓了步，他自己也說不上。這是按照遠方的奇怪的命令而盲目執行的一種陰謀詭計，似乎就像這大自然的狂風一樣，教你猜不透其中的真意。…
